My Clay Life

My Clay Life

I first came across clay and making pots at school, then later at Art College in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. From there I was apprenticed at Le Dieu Pottery in Norwich for almost five years, working up from mixing clay to throwing small to medium sized pots. I always wanted to learn more so during my two week summer holiday, I worked for Ray Finch at Winchcombe pottery, absorbing the way a master potter approached his work.

After 23 years teaching Craft, design/technology and Ceramics in secondary education, I returned to what I know best and restarted designing and making tableware.....which is really where I belong.
